As a Technician, you will provide expert services, such as repairs, maintenance, and diagnostic, for all Customer and Company heavy-duty trucks, trailers, buses, etc. and ensure that an excellent standard of service and high level of customer satisfaction is maintained.
     
    What You’ll Do

    • Complete repairs and maintenance on almost any dealership line of product (both Customer and Company vehicles) by using advanced knowledge about the functioning of many systems
    • Diagnose faults or malfunctions by observing mechanical devices in operation, listening for problems, and using precision measuring and testing instruments to analyze problems
    • Adjust equipment, and repair or replace defective parts, components, or systems, as per results from diagnostic testing
    • Test repaired equipment for proper performance and ensure that the completed work done meets manufacturers’ specifications and legislated regulations
    • Ensure operation of equipment by completing training requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer’s instructions and troubleshooting malfunctions
    • Interpret work orders and technical manuals
    • Write service reports to record completed work and recommendations for further work required
    • Keep equipment cleaned, lubricated, and maintained
    • Use hoists, cranes, forklifts, and hand and power tools to complete duties

    • Heavy-duty truck, trailer, or bus technician/mechanic experience (required)
    • Provincial trade training (i.e. partial or total completion of Truck/Transport Mechanic Apprenticeship) an asset
    • Previous Aftermarket Resources Centre (ARC) training an asset
    • Previous experience with truck or trailer mechanics and electronics
